Download and install XnConvert from the link above
After installing the software you may see a pop-up window that looks like this…please setup in using the following recommended settings
When you launch the XnConvert APP, you will see this screen with the INPUT tab (upper left corner) active…drag and drop your images into the window
From the INPUT tab, you will move to the second tab called ACTION…please click Add Action > Image > Resize
…then the ACTION tab will look like this, please…
- Change the Width to 600
- Change the Height to 400
- Make sure ‘Keep Ratio’ box is checked
…next we move to the OUTPUT tab…where you will use the 3-dot mark on the top right to choose the folder where compressed images should be saved
- TIP: compressed images CAN be saved directly into your Local Repository
…next, choose the JPEG as the compressed output FORMAT (top right side)
…next, specify the FILENAME for your compressed images
- In the image below, i specified that I want my images to be called ‘week01’ followed by a number (indicated by the ## symbols).
- The output compressed images will be named sequentially…week0101, week0102, week0103, etc.
- Note that you can specify the START INDEX value to be any number you want
At the bottom of the page are other OPTIONS that you can choose.
- …you can choose to DELETE ORIGINAL if you want
When all your settings are done, you just click CONVERT (bottom right corner) to start the compression process
When conversion is done, you will see a window that looks like this…
- Note how much the OUTPUT FILE SIZE (852KB) is smaller than the INPUT FILE SIZE (39MB)…with a 97% compression ratio!
